Project Feasibility:

We provide a full spectrum of project delivery services, ranging from business case preparation and the development of organizational frameworks and structures, to straightforward project delivery.

Management & Team Control:

Our role is to ‘encourage the creation of value’ by establishing a creative team environment ensuring that each member knows their responsibilities. It is essential that Consultants work in recognizable stages, which culminate in a team report and client approval – short-term targets, are identified and achieved to ensure the clients requirements and needs are met.

Economic Occupation Costs:

Decisions made on material selection and construction techniques affect the long-term costs of running the facility - life cycle costing: value engineering and management techniques are applied to ensure informed decisions are made and objectives achieved.

Development Management:

Our role involves the management and coordination of all the key areas of the development process: site location and building feasibility studies through to funding and development scenarios, the appointment and management of the professional team, the project management of the construction process and facilities management of the completed building.

Quality Achievements:

Quality standards are one of the first issues to agree with the client – these are benchmarked and costs are applied. The sole source responsibility inherent in design-build provides the basis for quality and proper project performance.

• Key to the design-build method is a team approach. Efficient and cost-effective design and construction is maximized because there is a direct line of ongoing communication between those who will design and build your facility and those who will use it.

• CHI’S team of professionals has extensive experience creating a wide range of facilities for a wide range of companies. Our emphasis on communication means more accurate specifications and design - and fewer delays because of omissions or revisions.

• CHI’s careful coordination of all phases of design, engineering and construction can put your project on a fast track. In a traditional construction approach, architects, engineers, general contractor and construction managers are contracted. Each operates separately, and then passes work along to the next contributor with minimal coordination and sharing of information.

• CHI's design-build approach involves designers, engineers and construction professionals to "value engineer" the facility throughout all phases of the project, an approach that maximizes both efficiency and quality. Early phase construction may begin while design of final phases is still underway. With integrated communication of design and construction, potential problems can be foreseen and corrected early. Ongoing input by estimators means more accurate cost information, while CHI’s national alliances allow for more sophisticated and cost-effective purchasing practices.

The Management Style

Project Managers are recruited from a ‘contracting’ background, this sets CHI apart from many PM Companies and offers clients a unique style of ‘hands on’ management and this is a major factor in the development of the company, our managers were once Contractors themselves so are aware of the various ‘pitfalls’ involved.

Each project is the individual responsibility of an Area Manager or Director who takes responsibility for each project from tender to final completion in conjunction with the Regional Office General Manager. The Area Manager/Director(s) supported by a Project Manager-Design or Design Manager and a Senior Project Manager-Construction, to administer and organize the project. The Construction Managers (or Assistant PM), are thus released to run the site and control production and quality. This format places the emphasis of the ‘site team’ on production.

Our emphasis is on ‘getting the job built’; we are employed by our clients to provide a building service. Concentration on providing that service eliminates contractual problems.

Part of the service we provide is to recognize the specific requirements of the client. We are able to therefore take on board changes to the requirements or priorities of our clients, thus allowing us to translate these requirements efficiently and effectively to site. Cooperation in conjunction with our flexibility ensures close liaison with our clients and close control and interface with our consultants and contractors. We are the ‘pivot’ of the team and regard ourselves as problem solvers that contribute to the ‘buildability’ of the project.
